How can I work at Walt Disney World?

by - June 18, 2018

If you have ever visited Walt Disney World, Disneyland Paris or any of the 6 parks around the world you may have become enamoured like me and thought 'hmm I'd love to work here that would be nice!' WELLLLLL it is possible.

As an international you can't just apply for any job in Walt Disney World but if you are a student, or even not, there are two ways to do so!

Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort (the original in California) host the Disney College Programme where students in the USA are able to spend a semester living and working at the parks. Amazing! Walt Disney World, being the biggest resort in the states also has opportunities for internationals, the Cultural Exchange Programme, the Academic Exchange Programme, and the Cultural Representative Programme. Apart from the amazing opportunity to work in the resort itself, the opportunity also allows you to work for one of the biggest entertainment and hospitality companies in the world, receive world class training and be part of a life changing experience!

Now, two of these programmes open to us in the UK do require you to be a student, one is a 6 month - 12 month programme and you have to attend a University which is linked to the programme (Academic Exchange Programme). The Second, is a two and a bit month programme taking place in your University summer holidays, this is the Cultural Exchange Programme which I took part in in the summer of 2016.

The third opportunity to work at Walt Disney World is the Cultural Representative Programme, this programme is unique in that you are representing your country in the UK Pavilion in Epcot, either working in Merchandise or Food and Beverage. Only representatives from the UK are able to work in the pavilion, and you do not have to be a student to participate! This is a 12 month programme. There is also the opportunity to work in the Historical Research Centre which is a shop in the UK Pavilion where you can research family names and history. This is an operating participant so you're not working directly for Disney!

All applications for any UK participant are handled through Yummy Jobs! They are all extremely lovely and have done previous programmes themselves, so know what they are talking about! They handle everything through the application process and are extremely helpful leading up to your programmes and all information about the programmes can be found on their website here
